* Approved proceeding with a request for proposals to have an engineering firm evaluate the performance and capacity of the town's wastewater treatment plant and collection system. Water and waste water superintendent Dan Shoup said they'd like to have the system evaluated to see if there are ways to upgrade or increase the system's capacity at less cost than an expansion of the wastewater treatment plant.

* Approved having the town manager send a letter from Middlebury to the Indiana Department of Transportation traffic engineer requesting a 15-minute parking sign "from here to corner" to be put at the south boundary of the post office's property. The existing 15-minute parking sign creates confusion for customers parking at other businesses near the post office as to which parking spaces have time limits.

CONCORD COMMUNITY SCHOOLS BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Key action: The board listened to a presentation from Concord High School Principal Dan Cunningham concerning what faculty and staff are doing to increase student achievement.

Other actions:

* Recognized efforts by CHS's boys tennis and cross country teams.

* Received a presentation from Superintendent George Dyer concerning the Concord Dollars for Scholars and the Concord Employees United Way campaign.

* Received a presentation from Assistant Superintendent Wayne Stubbs concerning student achievement for kindergarten through sixth-grade students.
