Ben Turk's six punts for an average of 32.7 yards Saturday against Boston College — with a long of just 38 yards — have dropped him back into a competition with
Eric Maust for the job, coach
Charlie Weis said Sunday.
"I had that discussion with Brian (Polian, Notre Dame's special teams coordinator) this morning, and I think after what we saw in the game, yes, I think we have to at least let Eric have a shot in practice and see how it goes," Weis said Sunday.
Maust has averaged 39.8 yards on 14 kicks this season. Turk's average is 35.7 on 13 kicks.
