Former Notre Dame running back Darius Walker signed Friday with the Denver Broncos, making him the fourth former Irish player to join the team. The others are offensive lineman Ryan Harris, safety David Bruton and wide receiver David Grimes.
"We're getting faster AND smarter," Harris told the team's Web site.
Walker split last season with the Houston Texas and St. Louis Rams, but didn't see action in the regular season. He ran for 264 yards and racked up 81 receiving yards with the Texans in 2007, his rookie season.
Five more players have been added to the Notre Dame team for this summer's Notre Dame Japan Bowl game in Tokyo.
Joining the Irish team will be:
• Linebacker Tyreo Harrison (1998-2001)
• Linebacker Kinnon Tatum (1997-2000)
• Defensive back Ivory Covington (1994-97)
• Wide receiver Jay Johnson (1996-2000)
• Tight end/quarterback Gary Godsey (1999-2003)
