January 2009 Entries
A couple items that didn't make it into my Notre Dame-Seton Hall game story:
• Zach Hillesland left the game briefly after a knee-to-knee collision with a Seton Hall player, but should be fine for Monday's game at Louisville.
• That game at Freedom Hall is the first in a stretch where the Irish play seven of their next eight games against teams which are in the Associated Press Top 25 this week, including a trip to Pauley Pavilion to face UCLA.
• Notre Dame has won six in a row over Seton Hall, which is good enough to win some games...
Charlie Weis and Jack Swarbrick said changes were on the way for Notre Dame football, and it appears they've begun.
Defensive line coach Jappy Oliver has resigned to "pursue other opportunities," Notre Dame said in a release Thursday afternoon.
Oliver had been at Notre Dame since Weis' arrival in 2005.
