I usually make these picks based mostly on gut feeling, but not being in Hawaii and having spent only a half-hour or so with this team since the loss at USC, I don't really have one.

What makes you think that Notre Dame, just five days after the end of final exams, can pull it together after a long trip out to Honolulu and come out of the gate strong tonight — especially when slow starts have been a recurring problem all season?

Scout.com is reporting that Charlie Weis will return for a fifth season as Notre Dame football coach.
Cincinnati football coach Brian Kelly announced today that he's staying with the Bearcats and isn't interested in any other jobs. Kelly, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer, was contacted by the University of Washington about becoming the Huskies' coach.
The Enquirer article does not mention Notre Dame, which could be significant — or not.
Either:
• Notre Dame is not making a coaching change;
• It is, and Kelly was not interested in the job;
• It is, and Notre Dame either was not interested in Kelly or has a different candidate in mind; or
• It hasn't decided whether or not it is making a...
