A woman was stabbed in the face and another arrested Saturday morning.
Police responded to the report of a stabbing at an apartment at 729 Monroe St. at 4:40 a.m., according to Elkhart police.
When officers arrived, they saw two women covered with blood. A 33-year-old woman was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with a non-life-threatening stab wound to her cheek, police said.
Officers arrested 36-year-old Tamara Richmond of 1541 S. Main St. on preliminary charges of aggravated battery and on a warrant, police said.
Five children were in the apartment at the time of the stabbing, but not in the same room.
