Jane Allen to be new Middlebury schools leader

At its regular meeting Tuesday afternoon, the Middlebury School Board approved Allen to take over for current Superintendent Jim Conner upon his retirement this summer.
Conner announced his retirement in October.
Allen has served as Middlebury’s director of curriculum and instruction since 2006 and served as principal of York Elementary School for 12 years before that. She had also been a math teacher in Middlebury Community Schools from 1982 to 1994. Altogether, Allen has worked in education 33 years.
Allen will begin as superintendent July 1.
