Posted: 02/10/2012 at 3:15 pm

NAPPANEE — A 72-year-old Albion man died after a Friday morning traffic accident on West Market Street.

Nappanee police responded to a 8:55 a.m. report of a two-vehicle crash in the 100 block of West Market Street (U.S. 6). A passenger car had collided head-on with a garbage truck.

It was reported that the driver of the car, Marvin E. Pease, 72, of Albion, had crossed the center line into the path of the truck, though police don’t know what caused him to do so.

Both drivers were transported to Elkhart General Hospital, where Pease died from the injuries he sustained in the crash. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
