ELKHART — A driver and his passenger were arrested Saturday morning after the passenger called and reported to police the driver shouldn’t drive.

County officers arrested 31-year-old Calvin Crawford Jr. of South Bend in a driveway in the 30000 block of Old U.S. Highway 33 around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, according to a report from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department. A certified breath test showed his BAC at 0.15 percent, according to police.

Officers went to the area after his passenger, a 35-year-old South Bend woman, called police reporting that the driver couldn’t drive because he was intoxicated, according to the report.

Officers also arrested the woman on preliminary misdemeanor charges of public intoxication and possession of marijuana.
