Man jailed, accused of exposing self to Amish children
Prosecutors charged Darrin Ray Gibbs, 46, of 2441 W. 250 S., Warsaw, today with two counts of public indecency and one of performing sexual conduct in the presence of a minor, according to court documents. The charges carry up to seven years in prison.
The sheriff’s department learned Saturday that a man had exposed himself to children at the school, southeast of Nappanee, the day before, according to police.
A license plate number this week led them to Gibbs.
“Gibbs admitted to a K.C.S.C. detective that he had stopped outside an Amish school in the Nappanee area and exposed and touched himself in view of school children at the location,” according to a police report.
Gibbs was convicted of indecent exposure in Michigan in 1989 and 1991, according to police.
