How to oppose Health Care by e-mailing your legislator
Posted:
October 05, 2009 09:00 AM
First write a thoughtful message, such as:
====================
Please vote against all Health Care this session!
Remember your promise of - NO NEW TAXES? A mandated payment is a tax! Vote NO!
This whole health tax proposal is deeply flawed.
1) Americans should not be forced to pay for abortions.
2) Medical personnel should not be government employees - They'll quit and then where are we? We would be in long lines, that is where. Rationing.
3) Doctors should not be required to limit care by bureaucratic rules intended to save money. Death panels would decide the availability of treatment.
4) Doctors should be free to not perform abortions and euthanasia. You are making our best and brightest into murderers. Conscience clause.
5) Medicare and Medicaid are already in deficit. This bill proposes the same fate for all our medical services. More deficit will destroy the rest of our economy.
6) Why should I be sent to jail for refusing to pay for someone else's preventable disease? Insurance presumes controlling risk, not subsidizing bad habits.
7) Why should I pay for an illegal immigrant's health care? He does not pay for mine!
8) Don't destroy the best medical system in the world in a simple quest for political power!
Americans are angry about this over-spending congress. You will be held accountable.
Vote NO on all health care proposals! Don't try to fix a bad, unreadable bill. Just quietly say no.
=========
Be clear and concise. Be creative and catchy in your approach. Paste your message onto the Windows Clipboard.
Then log on to your own senator/rep's site (or that of a pivotal legislator such as Maine's Olympia Snowe) or log on to CapWiz which is much faster - I use Focus on the Family's CitizenLink site - http://capwiz.com/fof/dbq/officials/.
Select the "Elected Official" (several ways), click Contact, and click Web Form. I usually choose "write your own letter". Fill out the form and paste your letter in place. Ask for remember me and for a receipt if you are using Eagle Forum's capwiz.. Send.
Repeat for other legislators, using the same letter. Once you are rolling, you can send one a minute.
There are also tools for FAXs and printed letters, but they can be costly.
Repeat daily, with new issues, concerns and letters. Watch the news - the venue and details are constantly changing.
Lets see if the system really works, or if they are hopelessly out of touch with their constituents.
