what does it take?

what does it take to ensure the safety of a child? recently a friend of mine had an altercation with her husband. fearing for her child, she tried to leave with the baby. knowing that his wife was going to leave, he refused to let her near her child. part of this forcefulness was physical, knowing she was pregnant. when a friend called the cops, they investigated but said there was nothing they could do, they could not make the man turn over the child to the mother because they are married. the next day it happened again but this time her and her child were injured. it wasn't until someone got hurt that they finally saw that there was an issue. but what does it take? how far does someone have to go in order to ensure their young and themselves are protected? what happens when an argument gets physical, and one of the two wants to ensure the safety of the child and leave for a while but the law won't allow or enforce it? sooner or later someone, either man or woman, and even a child will die in the middle of a heated argument that could have been prevented........WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO PROTECT OUR LIVES AND OUR YOUNG?????
