An Angel Food distribution site is located at Abundant Life Ministries, 2130 Middlebury St. The site includes fresh and frozen items. Bristol United Methodist Church offers a free community meal from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays. Everyone is welcome. In addition to the meal, assistance will be available for anyone wishing to prepare a job resume.

Emerge Ministries is a homeless prevention service agency in Elkhart County serving the needs of families at risk. Information: 293-0776.

Wycliffe Associates' Annual Bible Translation Banquet will be Saturday at the Matterhorn Banquet and Conference Center. The special speaker is Grace Fabian from Pennsylvania, who will share her story and passion for translating the Bible. Fabian and her husband, Edmund, were translators in New Guinea in 1969, when he was killed by a local villager. The Nabak translation of the New Testament was completed in 1998. A Visual Worship Experience: Savage Grace with artwork by Valarie Millard-Combs will be presented by Southside Fellowship from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday, with reflections by the artist at 10, at the Lambright Center, Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, 3003 Benham Ave. Millard-Combs is a bereaved mother who used her art as a way of shaping and defining -- and eventually transforming her experience of grief. She will be presenting 16 of her oil pastel drawings and acrylic paintings, sharing her struggles, and her determined, persistent efforts to work through her grief following the deaths of her children; Shawn, Tom and Chad.

This will be a worship service unlike most. Millard-Combs' visual story of grief, lament and hope will provide the narrative of this worship service. Millard-Combs' paintings will be on display in the AMBS Library gallery Nov. 9-13. The Northern Indiana Council of MFMI will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Christian Fellowship of Goshen, Eighth and Jefferson streets. The Carlos and Barbara Barahona family from Honduras, Central America, will speak. Men, there will not be a Saturday morning meeting.

Upcoming events at Kingdom Impact Christian Cultural Church, 1020 E. Beardsley, include its first women's conference at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 featuring Worship Warriors' Lady Chantella Newsome. A free-will offering will be taken. Also, there will be a brunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at North Side Cafeteria, Main and Bristol streets. Moms In Touch International is celebrating 25 years with a historic prayer event, "Arise! Cry Out!" inviting Christian women from around the world to fast and pray for the generations. The Pathseekers class of the Middlebury Church of the Brethren, 507 W. Bristol St., is hosting a free Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 21. Everyone is invited to attend, and no donations will be collected at the door, as the Pathseekers desire to serve as warm, friendly ambassadors for Christ. No advance reservation is required.
