TOPEKA -- Lydia J. Yoder, 100, of 3900 W. 600 S., died early Tuesday morning (Dec. 1, 2009) in her home.
She was born Oct. 12, 1909, in LaGrange County to Joseph and Anna (Bontrager) Raber. On Nov. 8, 1934, she married Melvin E. Yoder in LaGrange County. He died July 4, 1994.
She is survived by two daughters, Anna (Lloyd J.) Troyer of Goshen and Mary Yoder of Topeka; four sons, Eli (Katie) Yoder, Wilbur (Orpha) Yoder and Raymond (Edna) Yoder, all of Topeka, and Levi (Sadie) Yoder of Hill Point, Wis.; 66 grandchildren; 276 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Martha Yoder of Annapolis, Ill.; and one son-in-law, Delbert (Mary) Bontrager of Topeka.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Elmer and Joseph Yoder; one daughter, Susie Bontrager; two grandsons, Samuel and Lester Yoder; one sister, Susie Raber, and five brothers, Noah, Levi, John, Melvin and Jacob Raber.
Mrs. Yoder was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. today and all day Thursday at her home. The funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Christy Mast residence, 3650 W. 600 S., Topeka. Bishop Christy Mast and the home ministers will officiate. Burial will be in Clearspring Cemetery, Topeka.
