ELKHART -- Kathryn A. DeGeyter, 82, of Elkhart, died at 4:04 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 29, 2009) in Elkhart General Hospital.

She was born Feb. 7, 1927, in Sturgis, Mich., to Ralph and Demaries (Kessler) VanZile. On Oct. 2, 1952, she married Joseph L. DeGeyter, who died March 13, 1997.

Mrs. DeGeyter is survived by two sons, Dennis and Douglas Munson, both of Elkhart; one daughter, Marsha Carper of Elkhart; four grandchildren, Michael Carper, Michele Kimberley, and Douglas and Scott Munson; five great-grandchildren, Zach Kliene and Tyler, Jacob, Kaleb and Sean Carper; and one sister, Jeanette Silliman of Kentwood, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Mrs. DeGeyter retired from CTS Corp. after more than 38 years of service. She was a member of the Elkhart Moose Lodge.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to Thursday's 1:30 p.m. funeral service at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 E. Jackson Blvd., Elkhart. Burial wil be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
