LENOIR, N.C. -- Rosalee "Buckie" Foster Harvey, age 66, of Prairie Court, Lenoir, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care.

She was born Sept. 6, 1943, in Kanawha County, W.Va., to the late Eldon and Bertha Wess Foster. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Dale Quinton Harvey; and four sisters, Emma Pliska, Glenna Merritt, Mary Foster and Drexal Bloss.

Ms. Harvey was retired from Caldwell County Department of Social Services after 18 years of service.

Survivors include one son, Gerald Harvey Jr. of Lenoir; three daughters, Ms. Bertha Peek, Mrs. Patricia Philyaw and husband, Richard Keith, all of Lenoir, and Mrs. Melody Phillips and husband, David, of Granite Falls; one brother, Mike Foster of Indiana; three sisters, Mrs. Buzzy Phillips and Mrs. Jerry Sawyer of Indiana and Mrs. Toni Nolen of South Carolina; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, at 4 p.m. at Resurrection Hope Church of God on Walt Arney Road conducted by the Rev. Jim Ritch.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church.
