EVA M. STUTZMAN

GOSHEN -- Eva Marie Stutzman, 71, of 420 Westwood Road, died at 12:40 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 26, 2009) in her home.

She was born Sept. 19, 1938, in New Paris to Jency and Lovina (Garber) Hershberger. On Oct. 17, 1958, she married Melvin Stutzman at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church.

He survives with one daughter, Carla (Bob) Mathis of Goshen; two sons, Steve (Rachel) Stutzman of Topeka, Kan., and Kermit (Pauline) Stutzman of Middlebury; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; four sisters, Rosie Hershberger and Thelma (Richard) Ramer, both of Goshen, and Linda (Richard) Wogoman and Betty (Dave) Schmid, both of Granger; and two brothers, Richard (Kathy) Hershberger of Palm Beach Shores, Fla., and Arthur (Jane) Hershberger of Dillwyn, Va.

One brother, Terry Hershberger, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Stutzman was a homemaker who had worked at nursing homes, as a receptionist at Vance Weaver Realty, as assistant director at The Window and as a sales clerk at the former Provident Bookstore, Goshen, for 13 years. She was a member of Pleasantview Mennonite Church who graduated from Bethany Christian High School in 1956 and cared for about 60 foster children in the past.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen. A private graveside service will be prior to the 11 a.m. Monday memorial service at Pleasantview Mennonite Church. Pastors Ron Diener and Tyler Hartford will officiate. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery, Goshen.
