BOURBON -- Dave Hostetler, 61, of 10332 S.R. 331, died at 7 a.m. Friday (Nov. 27, 2009) in his home after a yearlong struggle with cancer.
He was born Jan. 10, 1948, in Cleveland to Eli and Amanda (Miller) Hostetler. On Jan. 1, 1976, he married Naomi Yoder in Millersburg, Ohio.
She survives with one son, Davy Hostetler of Bourbon; two daughters, Heidi (Floyd) King of Leola, Pa., and Melanie (Vancen) Miller of Bourbon; four grandchildren; six brothers, Andy (Nancy) Hostetler of Nappanee, Eli (Katie) Hostetler of Farmington, Mo., Daniel (Carol) Hostetler of Utica, Ohio, Mark (Cathy) Hostetler of Bremen, Nathan (Miriam) Hostetler of Martinsburg, Ohio, and Jonathon Hostetler of Mt. Perry, Ohio; and five sisters, Sylvia (Pete) Wagler of Cochranton, Pa., Bertha (Richard) Miller and Ruth Hostetler, both of Martinsburg, Karen (Vern) Garber of Strawberry, Ark., and Laura Hostetler of Cumberland, Md.
Mr. Hostetler was a poultry farmer and worked as a salesman for many years at Ideal Construction. He was an associate pastor and member at Sandy Ridge Mennonite Church who served on various boards.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Sandy Ridge Mennonite Church at Seventh Road and S.R. 331 in Bourbon. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Nappanee Missionary Church. Pastor John D. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Conservative Church Cemetery, Nappanee.
