EDITH M. MALONE

ELKHART -- Edith M. "Peaches" Malone, 50, of Elkhart, died Saturday (Nov. 14, 2009) in her home after an extended illness.

She was born Aug. 30, 1959, in Elkhart and is survived by her parents, Cornell and Dell Davis; her companion, Larry Malone; three sisters, Christine Bessant of Ohio, Diana Marshall of Amarillo, Texas, and J. Virginia Robinson of Elkhart; and two brothers, Kenneth (Lena) Banes and Landers Gills, both of Elkhart.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bert Barnes.

Ms. Malone was a graduate of Carter Secretary School and worked as a secretary at HOMES Inc. She was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church who loved to read, cook and play bingo.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, 403 W. Franklin St., Elkhart. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at River of Life Church, 2626 Prairie St., Elkhart. Pastors Leonard and Janet Cook will officiate and the Rev. Fouler of Pilgrim Rest will be in charge of the eulogy.
