GOSHEN -- Marlene J. Maurer, 70, of 426 Hillcrest Drive, died at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 3, 2009) in Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born July 12, 1939, in Crandon, Wis., to Beecher and Helen (Harris) Johnson. On May 4, 1963, she married Lawrence M. Maurer in Elkhart.
He survives, along with one daughter, Julie M. (Chris) Walda of Fort Wayne; one son, Michael S. (Heidi) Maurer of New Paris; five grandchildren; and one sister, Maxine Robinson of Goshen.
One brother, Edmond Johnson, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Maurer worked as a radiological technologist at Elkhart General Hospital for 35 years prior to retiring in 2001. She was an active volunteer at First Church of God, Goshen. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen, and one hour prior to Saturday's 11 a.m. funeral service at First Church of God, Goshen. The Rev. Troy Scott will officiate. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
