ELKHART -- Edwin S. Yoder, 84, of 29815 Tealwood Drive, passed away at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 28, 2009) in his residence.
He was born Dec. 3, 1924, in Fairview, Mich., to Joseph B. and Hannah (Swartz) Yoder. He married Glenna G. Stevens on April 29, 1945, in Fairview.
She survives along with two sons, Leroy (Patty) Yoder of Dowagiac, Mich., and Tony (Diane) Yoder of Goshen; four grandchildren, Stacey (Mark) Jones of Goshen, Shelley (Scott) Ward of Tennessee, Amber (Dustin) Kosar of Dowagiac and Heather Winters of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and one brother, Henry B. Yoder of New Paris.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Kattie Easch; his daughter-in-law, Marilyn Yoder; one granddaughter, Dawn Annette Yoder; and three brothers, Jacob, Joe and Omer Yoder.
Mr. Yoder was the retired owner of Ed Bulldozing for 30 years. He attended First Baptist Church in Elkhart and was a member of the Joint Heirs Class at church.
Friends may call from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Waterman Westbrook Clouse Funeral Home, 1129 Prairie St., Elkhart, where the funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday. Dr. Daniel Gelatt of Calvary Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Olive East Cemetery.
