AMOS W. YODER

MIDDLEBURY -- Amos W. Yoder, 88, of 11517 C.R . 20 Middlebury, died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 10, 2009) at his residence.

He was born Sept. 18, 1921, in Haven, Kan., to William D. and Susie (Yoder) Yoder. On Nov. 23, 1944, in Oklahoma, he married Wilma Elizabeth Stutzman. She died Oct. 27, 2005.

He is survived by two daughters, Elaine (Robert) Mullet of Middlebury, and Dora (John) Miller of Nappanee; seven grandchildren; seven sisters, Katie Cross of Middlebury, Polly Fry of Fairview, Mich., Anna (Glen) Fry and Edna Miller, both of Topeka, Verna (Mervin) Miller of Ligonier, Ruby (Elmer) Byler of Millersburg, Merle (Ottie) Yoder of Castalian Springs, Tenn.; and four brothers, Felty (Ruby) Yoder and Albert (Rosa) Yoder, both of Topeka, William (Lora) Yoder of Syracuse and David (Ida Mae) Yoder of Shipshewana.

He was preceded in death by parents; six brothers, Daniel, Joseph, Herman, Perry, Ora and Elmer Yoder; and four sisters Sadie Sommerlot, Clara Slabach, Susanna Keim and Betsy Fry.

Mr. Yoder was a member of Old Order Amish Church and retired from Victorian Homes, Middlebury, after working there 25 years.

Visitation will be all day today at his residence. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the LaVern O. Miller Residence, 11460 C.R. 20, Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Bishop Alvin Hershberger and the home ministers. Burial will be in Bontrager Cemetery, Middlebury.
