MARTHA J. ROBERTSON BOTTORFF

MISHAWAKA -- Martha Jean Robertson Bottorff, loving mother and wife, went to Heaven at sunrise on Saturday morning surrounded by her husband and children. She was 83.

She was born on Feb. 11, 1926, to Robert and Faye Day of Niles, Mich. She was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband of 45 years, Ellis Robertson, and her son, Bill Robertson.

She is survived by her husband, Max Bottorff of Mishawaka; her brother, Bill Day of Florida; her son, Barry (Jill) Robertson of St. Joseph, Mich., her son, Gregory (Theresa) Robertson of Osceola and her daughter, Rebecca (Dan) Dosmann of Granger. Mrs. Bottorff will be missed by her seven grandchildren, Jodie (Paul) Zeuke of Arnoldsville, Ga., Jennifer (Mike) Morris of Noblesville, Tom Robertson of Osceola, Melissa Robertson of Chicago, Joe Robertson of Osceola, Gregory (Megan) Dosmann of Chicago and Michelle (Mike) Grabarek of Mishawaka.

She was also a loving great-grandma to Emily, Rebecca and Aubrey Fearnow, Tyler Eberly, Dereka and Drew Bollenbacher, Noah and Shelby Morris, and Avery Camryn Dosmann.

On Oct. 30, 1945, Martha married Ellis Robertson and settled in Mishawaka to make her home and raise her family. She loved playing golf, bowling, traveling to Florida and watching Notre Dame football. Ellis Robertson passed away on March 1, 1990.

On June 5, 1999, she married Max Bottorff, a long-time family friend who took loving care of her until her death.

Her family was the center of her life. She found joy in each wedding and the birth of each grandchild. Her prayers were always for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Michiana Community Church of God. Her many friends will miss her.

Friends and family may spend time reminiscing about their memories of Mrs. Bottorff from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at her funeral at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 Main St., Mishawaka.

Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden.

Donations may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care or to the Michiana Church of God.
