GOSHEN -- Margaret Hostetler, 87, of 1425 Greencroft Drive, died at 9:25 p.m. Monday (June 29, 2009) in Greencroft Healthcare as a result of a stroke.
She was born March 16, 1922, in Sturgis, Ky., to Florence Lee and Linnie (Farris) Bryan. On Aug. 24, 1946, she married Jacob "Jake" Hostetler in Port Huron, Mich.
He survives along with one son, J. Mark (Nancy) Hostetler of Minneapolis; one daughter, Susan (Ted) Zwemer of Champaign, Ill.; two grandchildren; and one sister, Rachel (Allen) Litfin of Sterling Heights, Mich.
Four siblings, William and Charles Bryan, Mildred Tolley and Reba Patterson, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hostetler was a missionary with Christian Missionary Alliance and had served in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Colombia. She attended Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church and graduated from Fort Wayne Bible College. Along with her husband, she ministered at churches in Indiana, Illinois, Texas and Florida.
She loved to sing and play the piano.
Friends may call Friday from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church, Goshen. Pastors Bill Richardson, George Nantz and Gordon Bacon will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery.
Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen, is assisting with arrangements.
