BUCKHEAD RIDGE, Fla. -- Richard Duane Davis, 79, of Buckhead Ridge, formerly of Union, Mich., died Wednesday (June 17, 2009) in hospice care.
He was born Dec. 3, 1929, in Elkhart, Ind., to Charles and Faye (Hartman) Davis.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Terry; three sons, Richard D. (Linda) Davis II, Charles D. (Linda) Davis and Mitchell S. (Debra) Davis; two stepchildren, Susan (Michael) Krallman and Jim Davis; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four brothers, Marlin (Joyce) Davis, Keith (Nan) Davis, Larry J. Davis and Ronald (Marie) Davis; and one sister, Beverly (Tom) Hunt.
One brother, Jerry Davis, preceded him in death.
Mr. Davis was a member of Moose Lodge 2417 of Buckhead Ridge, where he was governor twice, Moose Legionnaire, the VFW and the American Legion. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who retired from Conrail.
He enjoyed cards, fishing and bingo.
A memorial service will be at noon today at the Buxton Funeral Home Chapel A, 110 NE Fifth St., Okeechobee.
