GOSHEN -- A 73-year-old woman was killed Tuesday afternoon after the car she was driving was hit at C.R. 11 and C.R. 28 west of the city by a pickup truck.
Gloria Carr of South Bend was driving east on C.R. 28 at 4:04 p.m. when she stopped at the intersection but proceeded through into the path of the truck, which was going south, according to Cpl. David Lanzen of the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department. Ryan Wilkinson, 36, of Albion, was driving the truck.
A passenger in the car, Kimberly Rayl, 43, of South Bend, was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with what were described as minor injuries.
Three passengers in Wilkinson's truck sustained injuries. Juan Arambular, 33, of Auburn, reported shoulder pain. Richard Aramula, 58, of Fort Wayne, reported head pain. Alan Williamson, 37, of Columbia, sustained a face cut.
The county's crash investigation team is investigating.
