MUNCIE -- Memorial's dream of a Class 4A volleyball state championship was dashed by Muncie Central Saturday night at Ball State University.

MUNCIE -- Class 4A No. 1 Memorial rallied for a five-game victory in the semifinals of the IHSAA State Finals volleyball tournament.
The Crimson Chargers, which trailed 10-4 and 14-13 in the fifth game, beat the Highlanders 20-25, 25-22, 25-21. 22-25, 16-14 at Yorktown High School and will play at 8:10 tonight in the state championship match against Muncie Central at Ball State University's Worthen Arena.
The 4A final match will be shown live on Comcast Channel 111.
Fairfield (2A) and Marian (3A) lost in the semifinals.
At Delta High School, Southwood eliminated the Falcons 18-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-18.
At Muncie Central High School, Yorktown topped the Knights 25-20, 25-16, 25-14.

YORKTOWN -- Memorial High School's girls volleyball team will play for a state championship tonight.
The Crimson Chargers (36-2) defeated Floyd Central in five games (20-25, 25-22, 25-21, 22-25, 16-14) in a Class 4A semifinal match at Yorktown High School this morning.
Memorial will play the winner of the Center Grove-Muncie Central match, which is in progress. The 4A championship match will start at about 8:10 p.m. at Worthen Arena on the Ball State University campus in Muncie.
Fairfield High School also was in action this morning with a Class 2A semifinal match against Southwood.
