UPDATE:

A gas leak that prompted evacuations and traffic diversions in the 4600 block of Pine Creek Road is under control, according to fire officials.

Units have cleared the scene at Temple Products, where a large gas pipeline ruptured shortly before 6:30 a.m.

7:25 AM:

There’s a gas leak at Temple Products in Elkhart.

According to Elkhart Police dispatchers, a call came in just before 6:30 a.m. that a large gas pipeline had ruptured at the business in the 4600 block of Pine Creek Road, near C.R. 15.

City firefighters and police are on the scene and have evacuated the building. Northern Indiana Public Service Company workers are on their way. Dispatchers say no one has been injured.

Police are directing traffic and suggest you take an alternate route if you can.
