LAGRANGE Co. -— A Middlebury woman was arrested on drug-related charges after a traffic stop Saturday afternoon.
Jessica Jean Fireline, 26, of 52738 Yorkshire Drive, Middlebury, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of items used to make meth, possession of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance, according to a press release from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department.
Fireline was stopped on two traffic violations on C.R. 750 North east of C.R. 1200 West at 2:42 p.m., police said.
Officers found “a substantial amount of meth precursors” and also recovered “a fair amount of marijuana,” according to the release.
Later that day, deputies with the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department served a search warrant on a home as a result of a three-day investigation.
At 7943 N. 1200 W., police found a meth lab and other evidence of manufacturing, consumption and possession of meth around 7:30 p.m., police said.
Police also found a firearm in the home.
Investigators have forwarded the case to the LaGrange County prosecutor’s office with requests for arrest warrants on several people.
