GOSHEN -- Jon E. Gee, bassist for John Cougar Mellencamp, and his band, The GeeMen, will play at Constant Spring, 219 S. Main St., Goshen, on Nov. 28.
Gee is a former bassist with Ted Nugent and has worked with other rock music greats including The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, James Taylor, Quiet Riot and Bruce Springsteen. Known for his high-powered performance, he and The GeeMen kick The Stones to Cameo while throwing in mixes of originals.
He describes his own style as "heavy metal rock with obvious funk in it" in the vein of Sly Stone, Jimi Hendrix and Graham Central Station "but heavier!" A longtime professional musician, Gee's work is also featured on the soundtrack for the movie "The Perfect Storm."
Goshen band Minor Prophets will open for The GeeMen. Minor Prophets will play at 8:30 p.m., with Gee performing at 10 p.m.
No advance tickets will be sold -- just come early for dinner and a good seat.
