Elkhart General Hospital is hosting a free Arthritis Awareness Event at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Healthy Lifestyle Corner of the American Countryside Farmers Market.
At 10 a.m., Dr. Leonard Kibiloski, orthopaedic surgeon from OSMC, will present "Knee and Hip Arthritis: Symptoms and Treatment Options." He will explain the two primary types of arthritis: rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, discuss symptoms and review diagnosis and treatment options.
At noon, Elkhart General physical therapists Kim Everingham, PTA, CLT and Alissa Whitmer, PTA, CLT will present "How to Become an Active Manager of Your Arthritis." They will define the types of arthritis and teach self-management skills to live with arthritis.
