Key action: The board unanimously approved the 2009-2010 master contract tentative agreement as ratified by the Elkhart Teachers Association. An agreement with the ETA was reached about two weeks ago, and it was reported that there will be very little impact on the district's general fund.

Other actions:

* The board approved Board Policy ECF, which concerns energy and water conservation. The initial presentation was made Oct. 27.

* The board was presented, for initial consideration, revisions to board policies concerning the purchase of authority and bidding requirements, professional boundaries between employees and students and the suspension and dismissal of professional and support staff members.

* The board was presented with a proposed 2010-2011 school year calendar.
