The Veterans Administration is extending benefits to veterans for three additional illnesses associated with exposure to Agent Orange, according to Gary M. Whitehead, Elkhart County Veterans Service officer.

Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki is adding B cell leukemias, such as hairy cell leukemia, Parkinson's disease and ischemic heart disease.

Any Vietnam veteran who served in-country more than 24 hours has been exposed. Widows are eligible to file for benefits as well.

For more information, contact Whitehead at the Elkhart County Veterans Service Office at 523-2342.
