Nov. 20, 1954 - Jan. 31, 2008

BRISTOL -- Kathleen Kelly Sullivan, 53, of Bristol, died at 10:15 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 31, 2008) at home.

She was born Nov. 20, 1954, in Garrett to John "Jack" and Jacqueline "Jackie" (Bowers) Kelly. She married David Edward Sullivan on June 8, 1991, in Elkhart.

He survives, along with her mother of Bristol and three brothers, George, Vincent and James Kelly, all of Elkhart.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart. Prayer services will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends also may call a half hour prior to Wednesday's 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 411 W. Vistula, Bristol. The Rev. Bob VanKempen will officiate. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Auburn.

Mrs. Sullivan was a teacher and spent numerous years in the Fort Wayne, South Bend and Elkhart areas teaching third and fourth grades. She earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education at Indiana University in 1978 and a master of art degree at Ball State University in 1983 in elementary and early childhood education.

Her passions included walking her two dogs, planting flowers, writing to loved ones and volunteer work. She was a Big Sister for 10 years and earned the Big Sister of the Year award in 1996. Mrs. Sullivan devoted time to Kiwanis, Sister Virginia's Basic Adult Education and was a distinguished Toastmaster.
