CHRISTMAS/ADVENT

The 10th annual Ecumenical Advent Lessons and Carols service will be at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1108 S. Main St. Danielle Svonavec of the University of Notre Dame's music faculty will be the featured soloist. A 50-voice combined choir will also perform.

Elkhart County Community Baptist Church's annual cookie walk is from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 5 at 23805 Sunnyside Ave. (between U.S. 33 and C.R. 13 in Dunlap).

First Church of God, 2411 S. Sixth St., will have its annual Christmas carry-in dinner at 6 p.m. Dec. 6. Meat, drinks and table service is furnished. Participants are asked to bring a dish to share. Dr. Elliott Norgren, retired choir director at Bethel College, will have the program starting at 7.

Hillcrest, Jamestown and First United Methodist Church choirs and a live orchestra will present the Christmas cantata "One Incredible Moment" at 7 p.m. Dec. 12 at Hillcrest, 4206 E. Bristol St.; 2 p.m. Dec. 13 at First, 400 W. Mishawaka Road; and 7 p.m. Dec. 13 at Jamestown, 59218 C.R. 3 S.

St. Mary's of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 411 W. Vistula, Bristol, will have a Winter Wonderland Bazaar and Craft Show from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 5. Breakfast and lunch will be available, and more than 40 vendors will offer baked goods and homemade crafts.

The LOFTT (Loving Others For The Truth), a music venue for young people in Bristol, will have a "free Christmas bash" concert at 6 p.m. Dec. 12 at 401 Hilbish Blvd. Bands performing are Henryetta, Red Morning Voyage, As Hell Retreats, The Gun Show, The Blood Reckoning and The Burial. Jeremiah Bolich of Jeremiah Bolich Ministries and Cross Style International Ministries will speak. Free food will be provided. The children of Beulah Missionary Church, 57595 Old C.R. 17, will present "Bethlehem Treasure" at 6 p.m. Dec. 6. Information: 875-6537.

Hillcrest United Methodist Church, 4206 E. Bristol St., will have a candlelight Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. Dec. 24. Information: 264-3240.

Penn Friends Community Church, Penn Road and Quaker Street, Cassopolis, Mich., will perform the musical "Joy! Joy! Joy!" at 7 p.m. Dec. 11-12 and 10 a.m. Dec. 13. The performance will be feature a fully staged and costumed musical celebration by David Clydesdale. Refreshments will be served, and child care will be provided Sunday morning.
