ELKHART COUNTY SYMPHONY: The symphony opens its 62nd season, "Always About the Song," with a featured performance by cellist Wendy Warner at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Elkhart Memorial High School auditorium. The school is located at 2608 California Road, Elkhart.

GOSHEN COLLEGE

* Rebecca Hovan and Christine Larson Seitz perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in Sauder Concert Hall as part of the Faculty Recital Series. Tickets are $7 adults, and $5 seniors and students at the door. GC students with ID are free.

* The Maple City Chamber Orchestra begins its 2009-10 season with a concert at 3 p.m. Oct. 18 in Sauder Concert Hall. Free. Children are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal for a mini-parade during the concert.

* The Goshen College Performing Arts Series kicks welcomes Béla Fleck, Zakir Hussain and Edgar Meyer to Sauder Concert Hall at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16. Single ticket prices run $25 to $45.

* Sones de Mexico performs a concert at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 23. Free with canned food donation.

DEBARTOLO PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

* The Kenny Barron Trio, featuring legendary pianist Kenny Barron, present their melodies and rhythms in a public concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $15 to $36.

* Yamato performs on Japan's traditional Wadaiko drums at 7 p.m. Oct. 30.

MORRIS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER: Tickets for a single performance of Celtic Thunder at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2 are on sale. Call 235-9190 or (800) 537-6415 for tickets or order online at www.morriscenter.org. The Morris is located at 211 N. Michigan St., South Bend.

LVD'S CONCERT HALL: The Michigan bluegrass band Detour will perform at 7 p.m. Oct. 17. Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for children age 12 and younger. The hall is located at The Old Bag Factory, 1100 Chicago Ave., Goshen. To reserve tickets call 825-7785.

IUSB:The Euclid Quartet performs its fifth concert in the presentation of the complete Beethoven String Quartet cycle at 5 p.m. Sunday in Northside Hall, 1700 Mishawaka Ave. Tickets may be purchased for $3 to $12 in advance by calling 520-4203 or purchase tickets at the door.
