Let's discuss 'Elkhart County: Animal shelter gets lots of support after media reports'.

It's been a good week for the Human Society of Elkhart County, and officials are hoping the momentum will continue through the holidays. On Tuesday, msnbc.com reported that the Humane Society had been overwhelmed by abandoned animals. On Wednesday, the story appeared in The Elkhart Truth. By the end of the day, msnbc.com reported that donors from around the country had stepped up, contributing around $12,000 and arranging a dozen new adoptions.

This facility is so overwhelmed that, any help would help. Ann and her crew have done a terrific job there. Still, instead of going out and buying a dog or cat, please go there first.

Given the size of Elkhart County, these folks are also undermanned. Any volunteers would be appreciated here.

Keep up the great work you folks!
