Let's discuss 'New Paris: Reflections on the history of Mt. Wawasee'.

In the early 1960s, Loyal Wilson went skiing and broke his leg. The experience would've turned some people off from the sport.

Jazz fest?

Buy it and we'll help you run it.

If it were to be bought for skiing again I'd be surprised.

PLeasantly surprised.

And saved from going to MIchigan.

But surprised.

I lived in the area for the first 23 years of my life and remember sledding down Buzzard Hill to a waiting bonfire where you threw your feet into the waiting fire untill they steamed and feet were toasty and the marshmello's melted and black.  My growing up time was before skiing became popular in the area but sure did enjoy the snow activities we did have.   Marilyn Gray

My memories include my mom, brother, and I going down to the lodge for the day during Christmas break.  They had a fireplace inside and we'd play games all day at the lodge watching the skiers ski right to the lodge.  None of us ever skied but it was great fun.

With today's economy it might not be a bad idea to restore the hill.  It would save many people the expense of traveling to far-a-way places to enjoy some parts of winter.  Maybe the county could use some stimulas money for that project.  Make it a county park.  Not only would it provide entertainment but would also provide some much needed jobs.  Heck, it makes as much sense as fish farming Mike.

Don't forget Mountain Biking in the summer!  Ski resorts now use ski lifts in the summer to take people up.

Doc Lawless is the only decent place to mtn bike w/o a very long drive. IT would be so nice to bomb down buzzard hill on some switch backs.
