Let's discuss 'Radio station stirs pot on gay rights in Goshen'.
Controversy is brewing over a four-word addition the Goshen City Council will consider adding tonight to the city's civil rights ordinance. The addition would add "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" to the list of other classes of people protected against discrimination.

FANTASTIC!!!  It is about time!! Also amazes me that a "christain" radio station lied. Amazing simply amazing!!!

| The addition would add "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" to the list of other classes of people protected against discrimination. The change applies to access to housing, real-estate acquisition, education, employment and access to public accommodations. How any person or group could see this as "pro gay" rather than just adding folks to an already existing set of criteria, just goes to prove that people see and hear what they choose to see and hear. Selective intellect. Ridiculous.

| As for judging who is right and who has the facts, I will wait until I can compare the current ordinance with the proposed ordinance. My goal is to be informed. I won't be swayed by a radio station, a newspaper, or the comments made on this page.

| Good thing there aren't any gays working for WFRN, 'cause that would make them pretty much hypocrites, now, wouldn't it? Or, say, a sales rep who shows up half-dressed (and often half-drunk) to client meetings, or a DJ who's cheating on his wife. Thank goodness they're all perfect over there.

| Christians spreading lies? And churches are exempt from the ordinance? Wow! The council is to be commended and hopefully Elkhart will follow suit if it hasn't already.

| As much as those of you who post here daily like to dissect each ordinance, article, law, rumor, should-be's or shouldn't-be's. Adding or deleting to any discrimination ordinance regarding employment or residency is 100% totally unenforceable due to the difficulty in proving it exists. Much ado about nothing.
