Let's discuss 'Space for Bristol police?'.
The Bristol Town Council would like to give the police department more room and update the town hall, if a way can be found to fund it.

| How can you spent $900,000 for 6,500 square feet of space? it didn't solve the fuel efficiency problems of the old fire station The town should be able to buy a lot of fuel for $900,000.

| I had suggested this plan in their 5 year plan for Bristol when they asked the residents their opinions and my opinion at that meeting and thought for this was "shot down" very much so by the Chairman of the Council Tom Stutzman, so I sure never thought I would see the day we would get it. I thought he was making fun of my very suggestion that we do that. My suggestion then was that anyone coming into town could "SEE" that Bristol is very well policed. Our Bristol Police officers do a "wonderful" job and if you compare it to a substation, (which is about the size they have to work in), it is not suitable at present. We need a bigger police station/department so that they can do just that, perform the perfect job they do now with better facilities. I think it would be great that they would have an interrogation room and such. I would think that the town manager should be able to dig out some funds somewhere on his computer and help find grant monies that would pay for our police dept. in Bristol, after all that is what the city pays him for. And the Raber Golf Course idea is great also. How about some funds from the noise maker at Robert Weed also? I have faith in it getting done. Let's show our officers that respect in the community.

| There might even be some grants within the "Homeland Security" segment for our new police dept.

Spend money so people can SEE it is well policed. Spoken like a true politician. Need a bigger police department with an interrogation room! The police force is already big enough from what I can see.
One of my big problems is not some addition may be warranted. But the cost/size seems way out of line for a town of 1,500.
