There were many disturbing things about the RNC this week, but I think one of the biggest would be that they are now running a pit bull reformer ticket. Who or what are they going to reform? THEMSELVES?

The other disturbing thing was when Rick Davis (McCain campaign manager) stated that "this campaign isn't about issues, it's about a composite view of what voters will take away from these candidates", and now they are suggesting that she is not going to do interviews with the media. This alone should disturb every citizen-voter regardless of party affiliation. The internet website-scrubbing that has gone down over the last week of anything official related to her past should disturb everyone. And the stonewalling of the investigation in Alaska should as well.

Last, I think Palin should take a bit of her own advice that she gave a few months back to Hillary Clinton, when she referred to women politicians who "whine" about gender bias in the media, saying that they should toughen up, and simply put themselves out there and work harder. Hello pot, meet kettle.

"However Biden is a competent copilot that in the likely event Obama wins"  Tom Butler

On what do you make this statement?  In two miserably failed attemps to run for President, the American people said "Not on my watch!" so apprently the people don't feel the same way as you Tom.  Interestingly enough, yesterday when I was on the WNDU web site, their unofficial, unscientific poll indicated that 80% of respondents felt that Palin was qualified to be VP.  Don't look now but the Dems are in trouble.

Jamie,

Are you really going to defend a state trooper who used a taser o0n his stepson? Do you really think that's ok?

Miller, your posts often disturb me, the 80% of WNDU readers is yet another example...that is pure scary!

Americana voters have been getting it as right as they can lately, in spite of the best efforts of both political parties to mislead them, at lease in terms of effect of picking the best candidates that their party is offering them.

The best candidates I always see are the ones that just don't quite make it.

Perot called NAFTA a scam and a huge problem for American workers and the economy years before anyone else did. In return he got his family threatened until he dropped out.

Democrats are not in trouble, this country is in trouble.

Tom,

What exactly about my posts scares you?  I assume you think unepmloyment is bad, so here's an idea, lets raise minumum wage by $.55 per hour so more small business will close and more people can be put out of work.  Then let's all complain when unemployment goes up.  Or maybe not.  Let's just raise the prices that the consumer has to pay on their products, that way we can start another era of runaway inflation similar to the late 70's under another Democratic era of leadership.

What scares me is a Senator that somehow thinks $150,000 per year is middle class.

Those who fail to learn from history are desitned to repeat it.

That has nothing to do with what I just pointed to above, it is logical fallacy on your part.

Miller, please define specifically for us what middle class is and what you use to come tothe conclusion.

Miller,

Finally something we can agree upon other than the fact that we both consider ourselves politically conservative.

I am against raising the minimum wage, but the current minimum wage is below most current labor markets in America so it is currently economically irrelevant in practical terms.

The $150,000 thing, wasn't that McCain who said this was the line for the middle class? He said some number worthy of ridicule in response to OBama's goal of reducing taxes on 95% of the population and raising it on 5%.

McCain does not understand economics, he said it himself.

Is this what you are talking about?

Now here is why I find you scary:

Your thinking is propelled by your ideological moral feeling which you wish to have your government enact upon the rest of the population by force of law.

You attempt to manipulate public opinion by citing biased and fringe research to support your point which you then project as fact.

You don't understand your history on what happens when governments tries to legislate specific constituent's in power's religious morals into law.

You miss the entire point of the "enlightenment" movement that our great nation was founded upon which ended the "Divine Rule of Kings"

Your views on abortion and wanting it to be the law of the land come from your own study of your own personal ancient religious tome of choice.

Your desire to outlaw abortion at conception is not based upon any modern pragmatic scientific principles.

In this way, you are no different than some Mullah in Iran who says that the Koran says that you should stone a rape victim to death and so therefore it should be the law of the land.

In a word - You sir are "unAmerican" and this is what makes you scary!

Tom I would take the additional step of saying that the neo-con movement is un-American and is only moving to the total destruction of the system of laws, check and balance and individual freedoms that this country was founded upon.  In the last eight years we have seen financial ruin at the hands of the neo-cons and their unbalanced followers.
