<<Do you know how many men have been killed in battle who have won the Medal of Honor.>>

Gram, tell me how many of them won the Medal of Honor for being killed in battle?  How many won the Medal of Honor for something that they did before being killed in battle?  Being killed in battle does not make one an hero.  You completely made my point.  Being shot down does not make one an hero.  It is what you do before or after being shot down.  Being taken prisoner does not make one an hero, what you did before or after being taken prisoner can make you an hero.

The thing I can't understand is the popularity of a Presidentil candidate who says he's going to raise taxes.  It's not like he's trying to hide it, he's going to raise taxes!!!  With all the complaining you hear about people's tax rates being too high now, I don't see how Obama gets one vote.

I don't know how many times Obama has to say he's going to LOWER taxes for the middle class and roll back the Bushs' tax cut for the rich and big business. I think he draws the line somewhere around 250K. It's called fiscal responsibility. Who do you think is gonna have to pay for his recklessly taking the budget from a surplus to a record deficit and his 10 billion a month Iraq invasion/occupation fiasco. Look down at your kids and their kids... Not only is this administration fiscally irresponsible their morally irresponsible.

I Loved Palins cheap shots at community activisim, you know the 1000 points of light that they used to hold so near and dear.Maybe one of those points of light could have explained the birds and bees to her daughter. Plus McCAin's sure getting a lot of milage out of his military career for someone who was shot down out of a multi million dollar jet and was on a boat when it blew up. How that makes him presidential material I dont know, but if they are casting for a remake of F troop maybe he could get the Larry Storch role. Audie Murphy he ain't. Just check how King G swift boated him on youtube. Ah memories...

Where are the lying swift boat traitors coming out of the woodwork to discredit McSames' military record? You notice our side doesn't do that.

Some posts here are so partisan and opinionated it hurts to read them.  What makes it worse is that so much of it is pro-political party and not based on pure philosophies.

As if The Republican party was really Conservative and the Democratic party was really Liberal.  There are some factions in both, but I assure you that the party platforms and rhetoric are so convergent lately that there is so little difference.

Both sides are running on "change" but the Republicans have changed very little in the past 8 years and the Democrats have also changed very little for the past two when they have controlled the House with a lame duck President who's party lost big in the last election.

This is why many voters are looking as far from Washington as possible to find a replacement.  Tactically this has lead the McCain campaign to find someone who's political rise has been as far physically removed from Washington as possible in America...Alaska.

Obaba has had the most meteoric rise since Nixon's henchmen nearly destroyed this country the last time....but voters were stupid enough to let Cheney and his neo-conservative, millitary adventuristic, self serving and self styled Mussolini Keystone Kop Fascists back into power.

Unfortunately you know what this got us last time - Carter...ugh...

Both parties did put their best candidates forward - The McCain of 2000 and before would have been my best pick, but he did not fight back at Bush after he was savaged in the 2000 election.  We could have had him much younger and stronger.

Now he is dangerously old and he has never been in great health and he just picked the most underqualified VP candidate in history to replace him if needed.

Obama is also dangerously untested as a leader, but he is at least a brilliant person who knows how to think.

Palin took 7 years and 4 different universities to graduate..and then with a journalist degree...and many years of just being a homemaker.  She has no deep level of consciousness about the world having only travelled out of Alaska - the most remote part of America one time to visit his son in Kuwait briefly.

My pick would have been McCain I think had he picked someone like Romney or even better Bloomberg as VP..someone with proven leadership and business skills.

Now I just might abstain or vote for Bob Barr...same thing, but Barr has said some kooky things lately.

This election stinks...The political parties have destoyed us.

"Just 42 percent say Palin has the experience necessary to serve as president."

from story:

McCain and Obama campaigns grapple for 'change'

- ANDREW TAYLOR, Associated Press Writer

JUST - Are 42% of Americans really that dumb!

This really causes one to loose hope and trust in Americans if they can't see through this good speech maker and see an empty pretty face.

Gingles:

Read your post and see how stupid it is. Obviously all of these men won the Medal of Honor doing something before they were killed in battle. Or you could also say they were killed while doing something heroic enough to win the medal. It would be difficult for them to do anything after they were killed. Does it matter to you what word is used. But as usual you want to twist and turn a comment and then claim that someone has made your point. It's pathetic.

Cheape,

But you're not sure are you?  In the Saddleback Forum he called $150,000 middle class, do you agree?  Where are we going to draw the poverty line $75,000?

So now he's going to quit giving businesses those tax breaks and increase the taxes there.  Has he stated what revenue level those tax increases will affect?   And by the way, when those business taxes go up, who's going to pay for it?

Miller, where does the census bureau draw the line on upper middle class?  Lower middle class?  Or working class?  Upper middle class are mostly people with at least some graduate school.

The census bureau puts the top of the middle class in the 166,500 dollar per year range.  I just barely made it in to the bottom of the lower middle class in my best years of working.  So, Obama's listing of 150,000 is correct per the governments figures.  Who told you it was not correct?

I voted for McCain in the 2000 primary in Michigan.  Now, he appears as he just wants to continue Bush and that is one of the worst Presidents ever and we don't need another four years.  Wish it was over now.

Again I ask, who's going to pay for the irresponsible economic policies of this administration? Where's the money going to come from?

And isn't it revealing how few times Bush was mentioned during the convention.

You can run but you can't hide Johnny McSame.
