I used to work in an axle factory. An individual who worked on the line next to where I was working was smoking a joint on the job. As the foreman was walking around the corner the foreman witnessed the guy throwing the joint on the floor. The employee was fired. An "internal investigation" reinstated the employee because the foreman never actually saw the joint in his hand. No one to this day denies that he was smoking pot, in violation of state and federal law, just that the foreman didn't see the joint in his hand. Think about that the next time you drive one of those UAW-made cars.

That's what this smells like to me.

Did you get in on that before he put it out?

"FAIL !!!!    phffffft"

Careful Tim, as I have personal experience with local police officers falsifying police reports.

The bottom line is I don't know what happened and neither does anyone else involved in the post.  Many in this post have believed what they read in newspapers, on the internet, or heard on the television as truth.  I am a bit more cynical than to believe that the media tells the truth all of the time.  25 years ago I was sitting in a Freshman level Political Science class, taught by a very liberal professor, and at that time he said, when speaking about the press, they will tell you exactly what they want you to know. That's even more true now than ever.

Here in America, men refrain from hugging and kissing, but at the same time will lick and lip the butt of a friend's bud...

I know return us all to Palin, as I understand it she has wrapped her lips around a few buds too...

not following ya here m4 .... the Fail was directed at the joint story ...... and I am anything but surprised that a cop would falsify a report or that a poly-sci prof would make that statement about the press .... heck that has been said of the press since back in the 50's with the advent of the t.v. ..... sheesh, they call it a "progam" for a reason ..... MASS PSYCHOLOGY, PSYCHO-POLITICS .... works rather well I amight add

I think you guys may have beat miller4 up too much today and bloodied his nose... The guy is starting to make world wide confessions, and I was only probing to trip his trigger... I have to be honest here for a minute, make that 15 seconds, I kind of like miller4, as he makes me think and reflect.... And, you have to admit he shows spirt.... He has no glass jaw, and reminds me alot about the person I am supporting to be our next President, and that is Sen. Barack Obama... miller4, come on over and join us, you show the spirt of the Obama campaign....

This election is going to be decided by white voters. In the latest polls McCain has a 55% to 45% advantage over Obama among all white voters. In 2004 Bush got 58% of the white vote and Kerry got 41%. The percentage of whites voting for McCain in 2008 will be higher than Bush's total in 2004. He could very well end up with 65% of the white vote.

Before someone calls me a racist Kerry got 88% of the black vote in 2004. Obama is going to get 98% of the black vote in 2008. Just as many blacks will not vote for a white man who's running against a black man, many whites will not vote for an extreme liberal black man who has past ties with dubious characters like his former pastor, Reverend Wright, his former Syrian born financial benefactor, Tony Resko and his friend, fellow board member and former terrorist William Ayres. If you don't think white voters will take those things into consideration when they walk into the voting booth you are mistaken.

I'm not saying that white voters would never vote for a black president. I'm saying many of them won't this time because the black candidate is an extreme liberal who has had relationships with the type of people that those voters could not comprehend having relationships with themselves. Never. Under any circumstances.

In 2004 Bush received 50.7% of the total votes (62 million) to Kerry's 48.3% (59 million). The only reason it was that close is that Kerry won three states (Illinois, New York and California) by a combined 3.2 million votes.

If 65% of whites vote for McCain in 2008 and 98% of blacks vote for Obama, McCain will get 67.6 million popular votes (55%) and Obama will get 54.4 million (45%). If only 60% of whites vote for McCain he'll still get 62.9 million votes to Obama's 59.1 million.

Obama's campaign staff is aware of these demographics and they know the only way for him to win is to split the white vote. It's not going to happen this time with this candidate.

historical stats are nice gramm .... but what is not factored into this historical equation is the mass of "new voters" who will likely swarm the polls to vote.....  and McCain is certainly not ahead in the speculative demographic of "new voters" .... many of whom are the young and once disenfranchised african-american.

Sorry guys.  I didn't think I'd be missed.  I have to share time with my 11 year oldd.  Just one computer can only go so far.  Thanks for the nu=ice words Barry.  My major mission for being on here is to offer alternative views, and hopefully if someone says they at least think about things that's great.

Elias,

Just to help you out I have never smoked anything but I have inhaled.  In my 1 year at Indiana State I inhaled more pot from the guys down the hall, both football players (which I suppose helps explain why we were 2-9 that season), than I care to remember...and I can remember.
